About Welcome Team
Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. (Romans 15:7).
At the heart of our ministry is Gospel-empowered welcoming: “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7) Our desire is that every person who walks through our doors would have a clear path to worship Christ, hear the gospel, and grow as a disciple of Jesus.

The Welcome Ministry is more than handshakes and smiles—it’s about removing obstacles so people can encounter Christ and become mature followers of Him (2 Corinthians 6:3; Ephesians 4:15–16). Week after week, we celebrate stories of people coming to faith, being baptized, and joining our church family, often pointing back to a simple act of kindness or connection from a welcome team member as the moment they first felt at home.
We are a team of servant-hearted volunteers who find joy in both the small and big things we do to create a warm, Christ-centered environment every Sunday. Our goal is to glorify God in the way we serve and to make space for others to meet Him.
How We Serve in the Welcome Ministry
- We have 3 Welcome Teams (each with a captain) that rotate Sundays.
- Each team has 6–8 volunteers, so you’ll serve about 1–2 Sundays per month or a total of 17 Sundays a year. You’ll get your schedule in advance through Planning Center (website or app).
- Pre-service: 8:45am on your serving Sunday. Set up the lobby & resources, Pray and prepare as a team, Receive role assignments (ushering, greeting, offering, communion, etc.)
- During service: some volunteers continue serving (e.g., handing out Bibles, communion, offering, monitoring the Connections Desk etc.).
-
After service: fellowship with newcomers/visitors, connect them with pastors or ministries, guide next steps, then help with take-down (usually 45–60 minutes).
Requirements to Join the Welcome Team
